Job Title: Interim to Hire Lead AI Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead AI Engineer to join our team on an interim to hire basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building scalable AI solutions. You will be responsible for driving the development of AI capabilities, mentoring a team of engineers, and delivering impactful solutions across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions across enterprise platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI enablement and deliver high-impact solutions.
- Guide and mentor a team of AI engineers, ensuring best practices in model development, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build and maintain tools and platforms that support AI workflows, including data pipelines, model training, and inference systems.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of AI systems in production environments.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Must Haves:
- Proven experience in AI/ML engineering, with a strong foundation in data science and model deployment.
- Hands-on expertise with cloud-based AI tools, particularly within Azure and Power Platform.
- Experience leading technical teams and driving deliverables in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to work independently and transparently.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid engineering/leadership role (approximately 70-80% hands-on, 20-30% leadership).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with tools such as Enterprise Chat GPT, Microsoft Copilot, and React-based front ends.
- Background in spinning up AI platforms or internal tooling to support ML workflows.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and scalable deployment strategies.
- Prior collaboration with consulting or systems integration partners is a plus.

Employment Type: Interim to Hire
Compensation: $85 - $95 hourly
