Position Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location: Reston, VA/ Plano, TX

Anticipated Start Date: Tentative start Date 08/18/2025

Expected Duration: 6+ Months with possibilities for extension
Job Type: Contract: 40 hrs/week

Pay Range: $45 to $50/hr on W2

Job Description:



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Automation Test Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and Gherkin, with a strong background in designing and implementing automation frameworks. This role requires proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and executing automation scripts through Jenkins. Experience with Sauce Labs and Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence is highly desirable.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks using Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and Gherkin.

  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins for automated test execution.

  • Integrate automation scripts with Jenkins and ensure smooth execution and reporting.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases.

  • Utilize Sauce Labs for cross-browser and cross-platform testing (preferred).

  • Manage and track test cases, defects, and documentation using JIRA and Confluence.

  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers and ensure best practices in automation testing.

  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an Agile team.


Required Skills & Qualifications:



  • 6+ years of experience in QA Automation with a strong focus on Selenium, Java, Cucumber, and Gherkin.

  • Proven experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

  • Hands-on experience running automation scripts through Jenkins.

  • Familiarity with Sauce Labs or similar cloud-based testing platforms (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC.

  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with other automation tools or frameworks.

  • Exposure to performance or security testing tools.

  • ISTQB or similar QA certification.
