What You ll Own

• Custom API & Platform Integration: Your primary focus will be designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable API integrations. You will connect the Convrz AI platform with a diverse ecosystem of third-party services and enterprise client systems (e.g., CRMs, EHRs, booking engines, and proprietary software).
• Full Stack Systems: Develop sleek UIs (React, Next.js) and real-time backend services (Node, FastAPI, Python) that support our integration frameworks and core agent capabilities.
• Voice AI Infrastructure: Engineer cloud-agnostic, low-latency voice pipelines using WebRTC/SIP and modern STT/TTS engines to power our integrated solutions.
• Cloud Wizardry: Architect and maintain the serverless and containerized infrastructure (Terraform, Pulumi) across Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS that underpins our APIs.
• Agent Runtime & Workflows: Power the "brain" of our AI agents by managing LLM orchestration (LangChain) and vector search (Pinecone) within integrated client workflows.
• Real-Time Operations: Implement cutting-edge observability dashboards, anomaly detection, and AI-powered monitoring to ensure our agents and integrations are always-on.
• Security & Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of security for data in transit, handling encrypted voice data, tokenized access, and PII/PHI protection across all integrations.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of full-stack development, with significant experience in building and maintaining custom APIs.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Strong command of microservices, REST APIs, WebSockets, and streaming data.
• Proven experience with voice technologies (STT, TTS, ASR, NLP) and audio formats.
• A solid understanding of secure deployment practices and token-based authentication (OAuth, JWT).

MUST HAVE

• Familiarity with LLM orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex), RAG agents, and vector databases (Pinecone, Qdrant).
• Experience with telephony integration (Twilio, RingCentral, Genesys) or ML pipeline deployment (Triton, HuggingFace Inference).
• Experience with specific industry APIs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Epic, Sabre).

Core Skillsets

• Backend Engineering & API Orchestration
• Node.js (TypeScript preferred) or Python: For implementing server-side logic and leveraging Vapi s SDKs.
• RESTful API mastery: To integrate third-party STT, TTS, and LLM models via Vapi s BYOM capability.
• Webhooks & Real-time APIs: Handling Vapi s event-driven architecture and real-time call interactions.
• Function Calling (Tool Use): To let agents trigger backend services like CRMs, booking systems, or data fetchers.

Voice AI Familiarity

• Experience working with:
• STT: Deepgram, Whisper, Google STT.
• LLMs: OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, Anthropic.
• TTS: ElevenLabs, PlayHT, Azure TTS.
• Understanding of latency optimization and real-time audio handling.

Frontend Development for Web & Mobile Embedding

• React.js / Next.js (for Web integrations).
• Flutter or React Native (if you plan mobile integrations).
• Experience with client-side SDKs: Starting/stopping calls, assistant state control, mic management.

Kubernetes + DevOps Knowledge

• Kubernetes (K8s): Since Vapi runs on scalable K8s clusters.
• Docker: For containerized deployments, especially for on-prem setups.
• CI/CD pipelines: To deploy, monitor, and scale voice agents.
• Comfort managing GPU-enabled cloud infra (AWS EC2 w/ A100s etc.).

Real-Time Audio & Networking

• Knowledge of WebRTC, LiveKit, or low-latency audio protocols.
• Experience with real-time streaming, especially under 700ms voice loop targets.

Security & Compliance

• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC2, PCI compliance if deploying for healthcare or finance.
• Experience managing VPCs, IAM roles, and secure API keys.
