Boeing is seeking a Data Scientist (Lead or Senior) to join our team in one of the following locations: Seattle, WA; Auburn, WA; Everett, WA; Renton, WA; Berkley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Long Beach, CA; Seal Beach, CA; North Charleston, SC; Ridley Park, PA, Mesa, AZ and Chicago, IL .
This position involves designing, developing, and implementing business intelligence solutions, which encompass information models, dashboards, metrics, and reports. Additionally, the role demands proficient data engineering skills, including techniques for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to integrate large and complex datasets from diverse sources. The ideal candidate will excel in both the engineering technical acumen/excellence required for this role while also being an engaging and motivating leader. There will be occasional travel required for this position.

Position Responsibilities:
- Support the enterprise-wide technology investment planning process within the LRBP. Analyze investment decisions across the business to clarify investment scenarios
- Identify, create and monitor R&D metrics
- Conduct independent assessments of R&D projects and make recommendations to leadership for modifications to improve success of technology transition
- Drive a clear, connected and consistent approach to the development, communication and execution of the technology strategy
- Use AI and other tools to better understand the implications of investment decisions
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Bachelors degree
- 3+ years data engineering experience (SQL, Python, Data Modeling)
- 3+ years creating data analytics, data visualizations/dashboards (Tableau, PowerBI, R Shiny)
- Experience with data warehouses, data governance and security
- Experience analyzing technical data
- Experience performing parametric estimates
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- (Level 4): Bachelors and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- (Level 5): Bachelors and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Strong understanding of data structure and management
- Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and deployment best practices.
- Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience communicating effectively to senior levels of management
- Additional technical experience including: React, R Studio, Git, Kubernetes, Docker
- Flexible, reliable, self-motivated team player with ability to work independently
- Exceptional time management, organizational skills, attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities
- Experience with estimating techniques and relationships used in practical applications (e.g. cost models, cost estimating relationships)
- Experience with statistical software, programming languages and/or databases for the purposes of Cost Estimate Relationship (CER) development and other analysis
- Experience in one or more of the following: machine learning, language modeling, computer vision, time-series analysis, unsupervised clustering, algorithmic foundations of optimization, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods, or data mining
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs) which could include prompt engineering
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) fundamentals
- Experience with Application Programming Interface (API) design and application
