Sr. Electrical Engineer

Focus:

  • Lead the design and development of industrial control systems and electrical panels aligned with mechanical P&IDs and IO specifications.
  • Ensure system compliance with industry standards, particularly UL 508A and NFPA 79, as well as adherence to best practices for hazardous area classifications (Class I & II).
  • Use AutoCAD Electrical to develop comprehensive electrical schematics and control layouts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical and software teams to support PLC logic integration (ladder logic and structured text) for equipment automation.
  • Address design or functionality issues both remotely and during periodic site visits, acting as a technical troubleshooter and solutions provider.
  • Interpret P&IDs to inform control design and understand system interactions at the component level.
  • Additional travel may be required to address on-site troubleshooting or project needs.

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in industrial electrical/control engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and experience in designing industrial control panels.
  • Working knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 79, IO list interpretation, and P&ID familiarity.
  • Ability to work remotely but must be willing to travel to headquarters in West Virginia one week a quarter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with hazardous locations (Class I & II environments).
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC systems, particularly in ladder logic and structured text.
  • Understanding of mechanical system schematics and cross-disciplinary workflows.
