Job Title: Device Refresh Project Technician
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85003 (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months (Contract)
Position Summary
The Device Refresh Project Technician will play a key role in executing a large-scale desktop and device refresh initiative. This role involves deploying, configuring, and providing quality assurance for new laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals across multiple departments. The technician will work directly with end-users, department liaisons, and vendors to ensure a seamless transition, while also assisting with project coordination and inventory management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Deployment & Configuration:
Image and reimage laptops and desktops.
Install applications locally and via Microsoft SCCM.
Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities in a Windows PC environment.
Assist customers with first-time setup (Outlook, printers, 3rd party software, etc.).
Inventory & Logistics:
Manage incoming and outgoing project inventory.
Move equipment across multiple locations.
Maintain accurate records and tracking databases.
Process device recycling requests.
Technical Support & Quality Assurance:
Perform break-fix repairs and quality assurance checks on equipment.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and access issues.
Diagnose and resolve problems using historical records and tools.
Respond to queries via phone and ticketing systems.
Customer Service & Communication:
Provide clear, plain-language assistance to end-users.
Build effective relationships with liaisons, vendors, and stakeholders.
Escalate recurring problems or trends to management.
Project Support:
Assist the Project Coordinator with documentation, reports, and timelines.
Support vendor service calls.
Handle ad hoc project-related tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Abilities
Proficiency with Active Directory (adding, moving, changing objects).
Strong knowledge of PC hardware and Windows 10.
Experience with enterprise service desk ticketing systems.
Excellent communication skills for instructing non-technical users.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of inventory controls in warehousing/distribution environments.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
Positive, punctual, self-starter with a collaborative attitude.
Experience & Education
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Proven hands-on IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) experience in a corporate Windows environment.
Previous experience in technical support, deployment, or inventory management.
