Data Analyst Data Governance, Metadata & Lineage (Snowflake )

RATE: $55 on W2 and $60 on C2C

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst with deep expertise in Snowflake and a strong background in Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring enterprise data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and trusted across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Governance & Policy Execution
    • Support the design, implementation, and enforcement of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and data quality frameworks.
    • Ensure compliance with internal data management principles, data privacy regulations, and industry standards.
  • Snowflake Data Analysis & Optimization
    • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Snowflake, including schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, and best practices.
    • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines for analytical and governance use cases.
    • Work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure Snowflake data is well-structured, consistent, and secure.
  • Metadata & Data Lineage Management
    • Implement and manage enterprise metadata and lineage frameworks to ensure transparency, traceability, and accountability across datasets.
    • Leverage tools like Collibra, Atlan, Congruity360, and Alation to manage metadata repositories, data cataloging, and lineage visualization.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to integrate Snowflake metadata into governance tools and automate lineage tracking.
  • Data Quality & Stewardship
    • Define, monitor, and report on key data quality metrics and KPIs across critical data domains.
    • Partner with business stewards to identify, resolve, and prevent recurring data issues.
  • Issue Management & Remediation
    • Support data issue triage, root cause analysis, and remediation planning.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the governance and data quality ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis and data governance roles.
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake including SQL performance tuning, data modeling, and governance integration.
  • Strong SQL programming skills and hands-on experience in building analytical datasets and reports.
  • Experience with metadata management and data lineage tools especially Collibra, Atlan, Congruity360, or Alation.
  • Knowledge of data quality management frameworks and data cataloging best practices.
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
