We are seeking an experienced RentalMan Support Developer to provide production support and development expertise on the AS400/iSeries platform. Must-Have Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on AS400 production support experience
- Proven experience supporting RentalMan (Rental Management Software)
- Strong technical skills in:
- RPG, RPGLE
- CL, CLLE
- SQLRPGLE, DB2/400
- ILE Concepts
- Deep understanding of full software development lifecycle and Agile methodology
- 4+ years of experience in the Retail industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers and business users
Role Responsibilities:
- Act as a senior technical expert and/or team lead for complex application support and development initiatives
- Provide production support, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and performance optimization for AS400-based applications
- Lead and manage design, coding, unit testing, and implementation of enhancements and bug fixes
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and develop programs accordingly
- Assist in planning and executing all phases of application development
- Utilize IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi) for development and debugging
- Use tools like Visual Explain and other IBM performance tools for tuning and optimization
- Employ source control tools (e.g., Aldon) for version and change management
- Analyze and resolve the most complex application issues involving multiple systems and platforms
- Mentor junior developers and serve as a technical point of contact for critical issues
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
- Prior experience using JIRA for Agile project management and tracking
- Background in process improvement or system modernization efforts in the retail or rental domain
