Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Validation Engineer to join our Datacenter Server SoC team. This role focuses on post-silicon validation and enablement of high-speed IO features such as PCIe, CXL, and USB across AMD Server platforms. The ideal candidate will be experienced in server hardware bring-up, BIOS-level debugging, and validation across software, firmware, and OS layers.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute validation and feature enablement test plans for high-speed I/O (PCIe, CXL, USB) across AMD Server SoC and system platforms
Perform hands-on system-level work including platform bring-up, BIOS configuration, OS installation, and lab setup
Develop and maintain post-silicon validation infrastructure, including test automation scripts and debug tools
Conduct root-cause analysis for hardware, firmware, and system-level issues in coordination with design and validation teams
Use high-speed oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers for signal integrity validation and data collection
Report test progress, document results, and contribute to failure analysis workflows
Perform minor hardware rework tasks such as CPU socketing and card insertion
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 3+ years of validation/design experience
OR Associate s degree with 5+ years of relevant experienceHands-on experience with server hardware, system-level diagnostics, and validation methodologies
Proficiency in PCIe and/or CXL protocols
Familiarity with BIOS/UEFI configurations and OS installations (Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows Server)
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Python, C++, or Perl
Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working with AMD server CPUs
Solid understanding of x86 microprocessor architecture and server platform design
Working knowledge of test equipment such as high-end oscilloscopes and PCIe/CXL protocol analyzers
Familiarity with server validation environments and lab-based hardware rework.
