Development Success Engineer (DSE)

Austin, TX

  • Enhance the onboarding experience for Crypto Services by identifying friction points and creating scalable, automated solutions.
  • Develop and maintain internal tooling, libraries, and workflows that reduce manual intervention and minimize direct support requests.
  • Engage in issue triage and collaborate closely with engineering teams to rapidly address integration challenges.
  • Create and refine technical documentation and intuitive self-service resources.
  • Measure and report on key success metrics, particularly emphasizing the percentage increase in developers effectively utilizing self-service tools.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal Crypto Services teams to help direct the roadmap and features of the internal products.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for seamless integration of Crypto Services into foundational Apple frameworks and developer workflows.
  • Candidate will follow and adhere to team and crypto services engineering and development standards

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java, including strong software architecture, API design, and debugging abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Proactive self-starter, demonstrating strong systems thinking and the capability to generalize solutions across different problem spaces.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
  • ** ability to support Client Teams of various levels from jr. engineers to senior management.
  • ** ability to context shift with minimal direction to support various tasks at different states of delivery

Preferred

  • Proven experience in enabling developer success through internal tooling, documentation, or platform enhancements
  • Solid understanding of security principles, PKI, mutual TLS (mTLS), key and certificate management, and distributed system architecture.
  • Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Go, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Previous roles within developer experience (DevEx), platform engineering, or developer tools teams.
  • Exposure to regulated environments or privacy-sensitive applications.
  • Contributions to internal self-service platforms, onboarding automation, or developer portals.
