Cyber Security Operations Manager

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Operations Manager to lead a small team of skilled engineers and analysts responsible for securing the corporate enterprise environment. This individual will manage and mentor the team, oversee the implementation and operation of security solutions across cloud and on-premises environments, coordinate incident response, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate is a motivated leader with hands-on cybersecurity experience and strong project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and develop a team of cybersecurity engineers and analysts to secure SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and on-premises environments.
• Oversee security operations, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions.
• Lead and coordinate team response to security incidents, ensuring effective and timely remediation, including after-hours support as needed.
• Act as the escalation point for security incidents escalated by the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Collaborate with compliance teams and IT stakeholders to meet regulatory, industry, and organizational security requirements.
• Manage and prioritize tasks and projects, allocate resources effectively, and report progress and status to senior management.
• Drive security initiatives to enhance the organization's security posture and achieve IT objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) required.
• 3+ years managing security operations
• U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Proven experience managing or leading a security operations team, including direct oversight and mentorship of team members.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with security operations in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of information security frameworks, compliance requirements, and best practices.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to provide concise updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Availability for off-hours support and incident response on an as-needed basis.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $129,800.00/Yr. - USD $216,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
