Position Information: Our client is seeking a talented Business Intelligence Developer.
Responsibilities:
- Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
- Participates in or supports work stream planning process.
- Works with internal and external customers and IT partners to gather and validate data requirements.
- Develops and writes business requirements for the design of solutions; seeks advice from senior staff on more complex issues as needed.
- Determines and analyzes commonly used queries and reports, independently.
- Researches business problems and assists in the creation of models that help analyze these problems; seeks advice from senior staff on more complex issues as needed.
- Creates, modifies, and distributes reports displaying data (i.e., Epic Clarity and Caboodle data).
- Writes SQL and configures settings for customer SQL metrics.
- Develops, executes, and documents user test plans, provides support to test teams and resolves issues based on test results.
- Verifies the collection data is within required quality standards.
- Maintains the quality of metadata repository/data dictionary by adding, modifying and deleting data.
- Creates data quality tickets as needed.
- Participates in vendor evaluations when assigned.
- Reviews upgrade documentation related to new/additional available features and determines how to implement changes.
- Responsible for building and maintaining such items as: Cubes, Extracts, Self-Service reporting tools, custom filters, Third-Party business intelligence tools.
- Assists in the development of end user training materials.
- Coaches and trains clients in the use of business intelligence solutions to enhance business decision-making capability.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of operational functions of the areas they support.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with report writing tools.
- Knowledge of Epic applications and database structure.
- Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
- Skill in building: Universes/Cubes, Extracts, SlicerDicer, dashboards, cognitive computer.
- Skill in Epic reporting including designing, building, testing, and supporting Epic Clarity report for the clinical applications/end users.
- Skill with Epic modules: Reporting Workbench, Business Objects.
- Advanced skill in strong communication both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced skill in adhering and adapting to current and improving standards.
- Ability to provide analytics solutions with user-focused design and data visualization to support making data actionable for end-users.
- Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training/certification or equivalent work experience required.
- Three (3) years of business analysis or related technical experience preferred.
- Experience in one healthcare-related functional area (i.e., pharmacy, surgery, nursing, emergency department, hospital billing, etc) preferred.
