Position: Project Control Specialist (Nuclear Power)
Location: Chattanooga, TN (REMOTE)
Summary:
- As the subject matter expert, the Project Control Specialist develops and implements methods for performance monitoring, reporting, analysis, and trend assessment
- The Project Control Specialist facilitates programs to ensure the establishment and analysis of specific operational and process improvement plans used for goal setting, estimating project plans, performance indicators/targets, benchmarking, baselining, and trending
- This position is Remote, with occasional travel to Chattanooga, TN
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates architecture and engineering (A-E) contracts, monitors contract expenditures for usage trends, assists in the process of issuing new contracts, amending existing contracts, and resolves questions, issues, etc.
- Leads/manages the process ensuring the integrity of the process, resolving pending/outstanding requests, and reconciling encumbrances and pending tasks with IBS as required
- Serves as a nuclear/industry subject matter expert and may be called upon by others to provide technical direction and oversight
- Analyzes cost data to find methods of reducing costs and/or increasing efficiency and coordinates a corrective action plan
- Develops a cost-benefit analysis
- Develops project budgets and reporting structures for actual expenditures and monitors performance
- Assists in developing budgets and reporting structures for actual expenditures and monitoring performance as requested
- Monitors and forecasts performance in comparison to business plan objectives
- Establishes ADP support requirements and develops and institutes plans to accomplish them
- Assists in developing workload projections (equivalents)
- Conducts special studies, for example: project forecasting, O&M projects, CCO, etc.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with Utility Cost Control, Project Control, or Project Management
- Knowledge of Project Controls techniques to ensure a project stays within its approved scope, budget, and schedule by monitoring progress, forecasting potential issues, and taking corrective actions
- Must have experience with using MS Excel for analysis and graphing
- Experience with Primavera P6 is preferred
- Bachelor s Degree is preferred; equivalent real-world work experience will be considered
