RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is looking for a skilled and motivated Google Cloud Platform Engineer to join the cloud engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud-native application development, automation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Google Cloud Platform Engineer will design and deploy Google Cloud Platform-based infrastructure using best practices for scalability, security, and performance
* Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Ansible
* Implement CI/CD pipelines and integrate cloud services to support DevOps workflows
* Monitor and optimize cloud resources for cost, performance, and reliability
* As a Google Cloud Platform Engineer, you will ensure compliance with security policies and implement Google Cloud Platform Identity and Access Management (IAM), VPC Service Controls, and encryption
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, networking, and services
* Collaborate with developers, architects, and security teams to deliver cloud solutions aligned with business goals
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
* 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps, with at least 2 years focused on Google Cloud Platform
* Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and Cloud Pub/Sub
* Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, or PrometheGrafana
* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform)
* Strong understanding of networking, security, and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, GKE)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
