Title: Workday HCM Deployment Lead (Client-Side)
Location : Remote - US
Target Start Date : ASAP
Type: (C, CTH, D) : Contract - small potential to hire so prioritize contract
Pay Rate : $100-$140/hr (can do more but prefer to be in this range)

We are seeking a highly experienced Workday HCM Deployment Lead to support the successful implementation of Workday across our global operations. This resource will act as a client-side leader and advisor, working closely with our System Implementation (SI) partner to ensure alignment with business objectives, support integration activities, validate configuration through workbooks, and drive readiness across multiple functional areas including Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and Absence/Time Tracking.

Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Workday HCM Deployment Lead to support the successful implementation of Workday across our global operations. This resource will act as a client-side leader and advisor, working closely with our System Implementation (SI) partner to ensure alignment with business objectives, support integration activities, validate configuration through workbooks, and drive readiness across multiple functional areas including Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and Absence/Time Tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the client-side Workday subject matter expert (SME) across HCM modules: Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and Absence/Time Tracking (ABS/TT).
- Partner with the SI to oversee solution design, ensure best practices, and validate that configuration aligns with business needs.
- Act as a liaison between the business, internal IT, and SI teams to support global deployment efforts, ensuring alignment across regions and compliance with local requirements.
- Lead or support the review and completion of Workday configuration workbooks, including validation and sign-off processes.
- Advise on integration planning and testing, working cross-functionally to support Workday integrations with third-party platforms (e.g., payroll vendors, benefits providers, ATS, etc.).
- Track project milestones, dependencies, and risks, providing input into project governance routines and issue resolution.
- Provide input to change management, data conversion, and end-user readiness plans.
- Support UAT planning and execution, including scenario creation and validation of test results.
- Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in multiple full-cycle Workday HCM implementations in a global environment.
- Deep understanding of Workday Recruiting, Benefits, Payroll, and Absence/Time Tracking modules.
- Prior experience working on the client side of Workday projects, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with System Integrators (SIs).
- Proven ability to interpret business requirements, validate system design, and complete configuration documentation (workbooks).
- Strong understanding of Workday integrations, with the ability to advise on architecture and testing.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working across time zones and leading conversations with global business leaders.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Workday certification(s) a plus, but not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated.
