Valiant Solutions is seeking a Senior Threat Intelligence Engineer to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!

The Senior Threat Intelligence Detection Engineer supports the agency by delivering timely, accurate, and actionable cyber threat intelligence that strengthens proactive defense, incident response, and enterprise risk reduction. This position integrates intelligence from commercial, open-source, government, and internal sources to maintain situational awareness and identify threats relevant to the agency s environment. The engineer develops intelligence products, participates in information-sharing forums, and advances program maturity through metrics and continuous improvement. The role ensures all cyber threat intelligence activities align with agency cybersecurity policies and applicable federal frameworks.

This position is based in the Washington DC Metro area and allows for primarily 100% remote work. There could be occasional onsite reporting in Bethesda, MD. Remote work requires a high level of trust in our employees, and we strictly adhere to the details outlined in our Remote Work Policy below.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline, or an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of the degree.
  • Proficiency with cyber threat intelligence concepts, methodologies, and platforms.
  • Knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls, MITRE ATT&CK, and federal cybersecurity guidance.
  • Experience collecting, ingesting, correlating, and analyzing threat intelligence from commercial feeds, OSINT, government sources, and internal detections.
  • Ability to develop operational, tactical, and strategic intelligence products.
  • Familiarity with automation, maturity modeling, and CTI performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and briefing skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Due to Federal contract requirements, this role requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all cyber threat intelligence tasks in alignment with agency cybersecurity policies, federal requirements, and established cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Collect, ingest, and correlate threat intelligence from multiple sources to identify relevant threats, risks, incidents, vulnerabilities, and assets.
  • Maintain automated ingestion pipelines for threat intelligence feeds into the agency s Threat Intelligence Platform.
  • Review Priority Intelligence Requirements on an annual basis.
  • Develop and distribute actionable intelligence products, including alerts, bulletins, and weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Conduct internal intelligence briefings with agency personnel on a quarterly basis.
  • Participate in interagency and cross-industry information-sharing activities and contribute agency-specific insights.
  • Capture and analyze CTI metrics related to automation coverage, response time reductions, and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct annual Capability Maturity Model assessments for CTI capabilities as defined by the agency.
  • Continuously enhance CTI processes to reduce analyst workload and improve deliverable consistency.
