Job Description:
Summary:
- Rolling out a product called Airtable, and looking for specialists who have experience with Airtable-ideally with Airtable Certified Builder certification.
- The main solution is being built for Diabetes Care and will be used across the entire Abbott organization.
- Specifically looking for experienced builders who are certified.
- This person will be hired as the builder for our team.
- Still in the process of building out day-to-day items, with a strong focus on user improvements and enhancing the user experience.
- This is a non-exempt position. Seeking a Certified Airtable Builder who is excited to design smart, scalable solutions that power real business impact. This role will architect and develop a dynamic Airtable ecosystem that connects teams, workflows and data across the organization.
- This role will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, translate into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and build interconnected bases that are powerful and easy to use.
- This role will also ensure things run smoothly: monitor performance, troubleshooting issues and continuously improving the system based on feedback and data.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day responsibility includes building and implementing Airtable solutions, improving workflows, and addressing user needs.
- Candidates should bring their expertise in Airtable to identify enhancements, collaborate on potential roadmaps, and meet requests from internal teams and cross-functional partners.
Primary Job Functions:
- For large projects with multiple systems, the application architect is responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies, working primarily with management and technical specialists across functional disciplines.
- Participates in the development of the client infrastructure and understands the impact and needs of the applications.
- Supports the application and technical specialists in the multi-system application architecture and has a thorough understanding of available technology, tools and existing designs for the applications involved and the impact upon each other.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Leads teams consisting of other functional groups within the client IT organization to establish technical strategies and the tactical plans to be positioned for the current and future needs of the business.
- Evaluates application system needs across multiple systems and develops corresponding application and logical data architectures and standards.
- Provides strategic consultancy support to clients, Senior Application Technical Specialists and other technical architects in all aspects of enabling technologies to meet business needs.
- Provides expertise on application architecture design or improvement.
- Considers the performance impact of the architecture. Collaborates with hardware, network and database architects to research new technologies and make recommendations to management on these new technologies at client.
- Facilitates the purchase and introduction of new technologies.
- Communicates and educates the technical and business communities on current architectures and technologies and industry trends. Performs technical oversight of implementation projects to assure alignment with architecture and technology standards. Collaborates with the hardware, network and database architects in application design and implementation.
- Works closely with product vendors ensuring strategic and architectural fit, and ability of product to scale in order to meet client requirements.
- Works on projects and support that could impact up to 60,000 client employees and multimillion dollar projects.
- Bachelors Degree/ Masters Degree preferred. 13 + years relevant experience including 3+ years as Application Architect.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into scalable Airtable designs.
- Develop and maintain a scalable Airtable ecosystem across interconnected bases and workflows.
- Implement cross-base relationships, shared schemas, and reusable components.
- Balance technical architecture with creative problem-solving to deliver high-impact, user- centric solutions that are intuitive, visually engaging and aligned with user workflows.
- Build advanced Airtable solutions using Interfaces, Automations, and Scripting.

- Integrate Airtable with third-party platforms using native tools and custom APIs.
- Monitor system performance and automation logs to proactively identify and resolve issues, in addition to troubleshooting user-reported problems.
- Host regular office hours to support end users, answer questions, and gather feedback.
- Document architecture decisions, data models, and workflows for long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Admin to ensure architectural decisions align with governance and compliance policies.
- 3+ years of experience designing Airtable solutions in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience managing complex Airtable ecosystems with cross-functional dependencies.
- Expertise in Airtable formulas, linked records, rollups, and advanced field types.
- Proficiency in Airtable Interfaces, scripting, and automation tools.
- Experience with large datasets and high user concurrency.
- Strong creative sensibility for interface design and user experience.
- Experience with third-party integrations and API-based workflows.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide live support to a diverse user base.
- Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
