ServiceNow CMDB & Discovery Consultant

Phoenix AZ- Onsite

Summary :-

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Mid-level ServiceNow Developer with hands-on experience in Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Discovery, and Platform Analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and maintain the CMDB and Discovery module, ensuring accurate mapping of infrastructure and application components.

Develop and maintain Discovery patterns, probes, and sensors to enhance data collection and visibility.

Integrate ServiceNow Discovery with external data sources to enrich CMDB data.

Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and improve Discovery results.

Configure and manage ServiceNow Performance Analytics, including KPIs, dashboards, and reports aligned to ITIL processes.

Assist in implementing best practices for data quality, normalization, and CMDB health, including audits and reconciliation rules.

Support platform enhancements, upgrades, and patching to ensure compatibility and performance.

Participate in agile ceremonies and provide development estimates, peer reviews, and documentation.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specs, workflows, and test plans.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8-10 yrs. relevant experience , 3 5 years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer, particularly in CMDB and Discovery.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, network, cloud, applications) and how they relate to CMDB architecture.
  • Experience in ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, and Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
  • Proficient in JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs, and ServiceNow s scripting environment.
  • Strong background in Performance Analytics, building KPIs, indicators, breakdowns, and actionable dashboards.
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, particularly related to CMDB, Incident, Change, and Asset Management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Discovery failures and data integrity issues.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and at least one relevant ServiceNow certification (e.g., Discovery, CMDB, Performance Analytics).
