Job Details
Our client is seeking an experienced (SDET) to work in the re-architecture and modernization of our end-to-end test automation framework. You will play an SDET role in designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable test infrastructure and frameworks that align with our vision of continuous delivery and quality at speed.
This role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in automation, architecture, and modern CI/CD pipelines, who thrives in fast-paced environments and can provide leadership and vision for quality engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect complete redesign of the existing automation test framework, introducing modern design patterns and best-in-class tooling.
- Define and implement test automation strategy and standards across the organization.
- Evaluate and integrate modern tools, frameworks, and technologies (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, TestContainers, Allure, etc.).
- Create robust, reusable, and scalable automation libraries across UI, API, and backend layers.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for test automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, and development teams to optimize test execution across environments.
- Lead POCs and technology evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive adoption of Shift-Left Testing and ensure test automation is embedded early in the SDLC.
- Maintain a strong focus on test data management, performance testing hooks, and system resilience testing.
- Provide mentorship and code reviews for QA engineers and developers contributing to the automation suite.
- Ensure integration with quality metrics and reporting dashboards for real-time visibility.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in Quality Engineering with at least 2 years as Automation/Test Architect
- Proven experience designing and scaling test automation frameworks (Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG/JUnit
- Expertise in testing RESTful APIs and Microservices (Postman, REST Assured, Karate, etc.)
- Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design principles
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for test environments
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and integrating automation into pipelines
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure for distributed testing and environment management
- Familiarity with BDD tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of test strategy, test data management, performance tuning, and fault injection
Salary/ Rate: $80-$90/hour (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week . Contract duration is 6 months with possible extensions. This position currently does not offer any benefits.
