Job Title:
Workday Systems Engineer / HRIS Specialist

Location: Livingston, NJ | New York, NY | Sunnyvale, CA | Bellevue, WA (Onsite)

Workday Certification is Plus

NOTE - Contract Role


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and configure HR systems and applications, including:

    • Workday HCM (Human Capital Management)

    • Payroll

    • Talent Management

    • Learning Management

    • Other related HR platforms

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive system enhancements and process automation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into scalable Workday solutions.

  • Manage Workday security roles, user permissions, and compliance configurations.

  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, workflows, and integrations.

  • Lead Workday system upgrades, including testing and release management.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Workday issues in collaboration with internal teams and Workday support.

  • Deliver training sessions and provide thorough documentation for end-users and stakeholders.

  • Stay informed on the latest Workday updates, industry trends, and best practices to continuously optimize performance.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday, Greenhouse, and other HR systems, with deep expertise in one or more modules such as:

    • HCM

    • Advanced Compensation

    • Absence

    • BenefitsPayroll

    • Finance

    • Recruiting

  • Preferred: Workday certifications in relevant modules.

  • Proficiency in:

    • Workday security, reporting, integrations, and business process configurations

    • Tools such as Workday Studio, EIBs, Calculated Fields, and BIRT

  • Demonstrated ability to lead Workday implementations, system enhancements, and optimizations.

  • Experience with SOX compliance, HRIS governance, and system security is a plus.

  • Familiarity with automation tools for HR process optimization.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
