Enterprise Architect
NO C2C - W2 ONLY
Hybrid in Fort Mill SC, Charlotte NC, New York NY, Austin TX. Please do not apply if you cannot work in these locations.
Project Description
Our client is currently undergoing a major datacenter migration to two newly acquired next-generation datacenters. The existing datacenters are at full capacity with no available space or power, and they operate under legacy models that require full datacenter failure to trigger recovery. The new datacenters introduce modern hardware, ACI-based networking, and blue-green deployment strategies, allowing for individual application-level failover rather than full-site failure. This shift requires the development and implementation of new architectural patterns in collaboration with development teams.
The architect will:
  • Review migration schedules and architectural patterns.
  • Ensure teams apply the correct patterns.
  • Establish lines of defense for resiliency.
  • Present regularly to the executive leadership team.

This is a strategic and hands-on role (approximately 75% technical / 25% strategic) with high
visibility across senior leadership.

Key Skills & Requirements
  • Leadership & Communication
    • Executive presence and ability to engage with senior leadership.
    • Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Deep experience in enterprise-level datacenter migrations (on-prem to on-prem).
    • VMware expertise at a master certification level.
    • Strong networking knowledge, especially with ACI and tools like ThousandEyes.
    • Familiarity with Cyber Application Manager - able to articulate pros and cons.
    • Middleware experience with Kafka and DataPower (API Gateway).
    • Proven experience in database migrations.
  • Architecture & Strategy
    • Experience designing and applying new architectural patterns.
    • Knowledge of blue-green deployments and ACI segmentation.
    • Ability to create resilient infrastructure with layered defenses.
  • Industry Background
    • Preferred experience in financial services, healthcare, defense, or education.
  • Work Environment
    • Onsite requirement: 4 days/week.
