The SAP Data Services BODS Consultant is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the SAP BODS system and developing and supporting data integration solutions. They should have experience with SAP HANA modeling, which involves creating and managing data models in SAP HANA using Calculation Views, dimensions, and SQL Scripting.
Responsibilities:
Provide round-the-clock Production support and manage user roles and permissions.
Create and manage data sources Perform backup and recovery of BODS repositories.
Implement performance tuning techniques
Deploy code across Development, QA, and Production environments using central repositories.
Develop BODS workflows/dataflows/mapping.
Create models using calculation views and performance tuning.
Load delta records on source and target level CDC on type 1, type 2, and type 3 SCD.
Perform quality testing and beta testing of the applications that are delivered.
Manage Data Warehouse Project Deliverables for SAP BODS ETL Specifications.
Proven knowledge/experience of HANA View
Proven experience with SQL and procedures in Native HANA.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in business (or Management), Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required
5 plus years of experience in Business Objects Data Services (Admin, workflows, Mapping, dataflows, Data integrator/Data Quality/Platform transformations, etc.)
5 plus years of experience in Data warehousing.
5 plus years delivering complex data management engagements, including all phases of the project life cycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go-live phases.
Proven experience in SAP HANA Modelling (calculation views)
Strong knowledge of data modeling and star schemas.
Working knowledge and experience with SQL language.
Proven understanding of best practices, such as naming conventions in creating BODS jobs.
Desired Skills:
Proven experience working with a large data warehouse, a plus.
Proven experience connecting BODS with a REST/SOAP API is a plus.
Proven experience in extracting semi-structured data like JSON is a plus
