Hadoop Developer

Location: Strongsville/Cleveland/Columbus OH/ Phoenix, AZ/ Pittsburgh, PA/ Dallas, TX/ Birmingham, AL
Duration: 6 Months with possible extension.
Contract Type: W2 Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend daily standups, spring planning, and sprint retrospective sessions and any ad hoc meetings.
• Coding development and unit testing.

Job Description:

• Responsible for the provisioning of any IT development, analysis, Information management (DBA), or QA requiring specialized knowledge of a niche technology.

• Modify existing databases and database management systems.
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• CA7 mainframe
• DSP (Data Streaming Platform) - Kafka Confluent
• Hadoop Big Data Engineer with PySpark, HQL, Python skills
• Hadoop Platform utilities - Hive, Oozie, Yarn, Impala, HDFS, HBase - Hue, Beeline
• Python and Shell Programming (PySpark) - Python 2.7, 3.0

Education/Experience:

• High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/software engineering/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
• 8+ years experience required.
