PSI Pax Inc has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Hunt Specialist to support an opportunity for our customer located in Dahlgren, VA.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise for support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications, hunt methodologies, advanced actor campaigns and exploits and telemetry refinement related to Cyber.
- Participates in all phases of incident response or hunt methodology (kill chain, pyramid of pain, diamond model).
- Provide expert level assistance to Digital Forensics and Incident Response and threat intelligence operations teams on advanced actor tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) related to Cyber.
- Provide expertise for support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications, hunt methodologies, advanced actor campaigns and exploits and telemetry refinement related to Cyber.
- Provide assistance to Digital Forensics and Incident Response and threat intelligence operations teams on advanced actor TTPs related to Cyber.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations, such as threat hunting, incident response, or security analysis.
- Technical knowledge: In-depth understanding of network protocols (HTTP, DNS, SMB, etc.) and architectures. Familiarity with operation systems like Windows and Linux. Knowledge of cloud security and threat hunting in cloud environments is a plus.
- Security tools: Experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, and SOAR platforms.
- Scripting and programming: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and analysis.
- Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyze logs, network traffic, and other data to identify anomalies and indicators of compromise.
