Java / React Developer Full-Time Hybrid (Reston, VA)

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid 2 3 days onsite)

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java (Spring Boot), React.js, and RESTful API development, with a focus on building secure, scalable, and high-performing enterprise web applications. This position is hybrid, requiring 2 3 days per week onsite in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain Java (Spring Boot) applications and RESTful APIs.

  • Build responsive front-end interfaces using React.js, Redux, and TypeScript.

  • Collaborate with back-end engineers, QA, and DevOps to deliver complete solutions.

  • Integrate APIs and data services for internal and external applications.

  • Implement best practices for code quality, performance optimization, and security.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and perform peer code reviews.

  • Troubleshoot and debug production issues to ensure high application uptime.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java / J2EE / Spring Boot.

  • 3+ years of front-end experience using React.js / JavaScript / TypeScript.

  • Experience designing and integrating REST APIs.

  • Strong understanding of Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle) and ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Maven.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.

  • Familiarity with Next.js, Redux Toolkit, or GraphQL.

  • Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, or SAML authentication standards.

  • Prior experience working on enterprise or federal projects in the DC Metro area.
