HVR Administrator (Fivetran HVR)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced HVR Administrator with hands-on expertise in Fivetran HVR to manage, optimize, and support large-scale data replication environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database connectivity, performance tuning, and Change Data Capture (CDC) across multiple data platforms.

Core Responsibilities:

• Platform Management: Install, configure, and upgrade HVR (now Fivetran HVR) software, including Hubs, agents (HVAs), and related components across multiple environments.
• Connection & Replication Setup: Establish and manage data source connections for diverse databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and Redshift. Configure robust replication channels, define source/target locations, select tables, and set up data transformations.
• Performance Optimization: Tune HVR configurations for optimal performance by adjusting batch sizes, parallelization, and network settings. Identify and resolve system bottlenecks related to storage, CPU, memory, or network bandwidth.
• High-Volume CDC Implementation: Design and implement efficient, high-volume data replication strategies leveraging log-based Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanisms.
• Operational Health Monitoring: Ensure continuous and reliable operation of HVR agents, maintaining seamless connectivity across all endpoints. Proactively monitor system health, alerts, and logs to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with HVR (now Fivetran HVR) administration and configuration.
• Strong understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC) and real-time data replication concepts.
• Proficiency with multiple RDBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SAP HANA).
• Experience integrating with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, BigQuery).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills for data replication systems.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, scripting (Bash, Python), and networking fundamentals.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
