Job Details
Microsoft Administrator responsible for the implementation, management, migration, and support of an organization's Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and user access.
Key Responsibilities
User and Identity Management: Administer the lifecycle of user accounts, groups, and licenses in both on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), including provisioning, deactivation, password management, and role assignments.
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures such as MFA, Conditional Access, and DLP. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements for data security and privacy.
System Maintenance and Monitoring: Monitor the health, performance, and usage of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and the Active Directory infrastructure.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for M365 and AD-related issues, resolving authentication and client-side problems.
Automation and Scripting: Use PowerShell or other automation tools to streamline administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
Collaboration and Integration: Work closely with IT teams to integrate Microsoft 365 and AD services with business applications. Manage Azure AD Connect for directory synchronization.
Documentation and Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and user guides. Provide training on new features and best practices.
Migration: Design and implement solutions to migrate email servers/mailboxes (Exchange, G-Suite, Thunderbird) to Microsoft 365. Support Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive migrations. Maintain reliable backup and recovery processes for directory data and M365 content.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience: Proven background in managing and supporting Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and on-premises Active Directory.
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture, Windows Server OS, networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP), and cloud security principles.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication abilities for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Certifications: Relevant Microsoft certifications are preferred (e.g., Administrator Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Identity and Access Administrator Associate).
Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
