Job Description
Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Citrix Systems Administrator who will provide operations support to customers across multiple geographic locations. Provide operations and maintenance support to existing Citrix VDI environments across multiple enclaves and assist with the implementation of new solutions. Help drive adoption of trusted thin-client platforms and virtual desktops across a diverse user base by focusing on improving reliability, functionality, and user experience. Work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met for both internal and external customers.

Required Skills
- Experience interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and issues.
- Experience working as a Tier 3 system administrator and using IT Service Management software.
- Knowledge of IC IT standards and best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of Citrix technologies, including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, and StoreFront.
- Experience with patch and upgrade methodologies for Citrix front-end and back-end systems.
- Experience with rapid testing, validation, and deployment of new baseline images.
- Experience conducting incident and trend analysis through log review, performance baselining, and other management techniques.
- Experience with scripting and automation.
- Experience troubleshooting issues in a dynamic, growing environment.
- Strong time management, oral, and written communication skills.
- Track record of effective teamwork and support toward process improvement.
- Experience with support ticket management systems.
- Experience mentoring or supervising others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience
- Additional years may substitute for a degree.
- Generally has 4 years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph, or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.
- Meets DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification requirements (Security CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP with appropriate Computing Environment certification).
Desired Qualifications
- Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA).
- ITIL Foundations Certification.
Capabilities
- Perform remote administration of servers located in offsite data centers.
- Provide Tier 3 operations support and rapidly distinguish isolated user problems versus service outages for Citrix technologies including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, and StoreFront.
- Monitor Citrix infrastructure and identify system anomalies before they impact customers, including storage capacity, network connectivity, and database health.
- Work closely with Engineering staff to plan and implement modernization efforts.
- Conduct network latency analysis to address slow connections and user experience issues.
- Implement version and architectural changes to maintain operability and security of the environment.
- Implement major system upgrades as designed and approved.
- Coordinate with Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams for testing and deployment of Group Policy modifications.
- Perform periodic backup and restoration of servers.
- Monitor desktop capacity to adjust environment sizing based on usage trends.
- Track license and certificate status, coordinating renewal and installation as needed.
- Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, and develop solutions for incident tickets and requirements.
- Establish availability and capacity management solutions using lessons learned.
- Develop solutions to technical issues and provide detailed follow-up reports for root-cause analysis.
- Periodically review, update, and generate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for systems and services.
- Update operations and monitoring documentation for 24/7/365 IT watch personnel.
- Provide mentorship and training for junior team members.
