The Full Stack Software Engineer is responsible for producing scalable software solutions utilizing a range of different technologies and languages (such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, C#) to develop applications approaching software holistically in order to cater to both user experience and functionality. Work assignments will involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Senior Full Stack Engineer Is involved in all stages of software development, including front-end development, back-end development, database integrations, network and hosting management, user interface, user experience, and back-end server management. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Job Duties + Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of developers with deep experience in frontend technologies, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
- Work across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
- Work with cloud native stack, build on Azure, AWS, or Google, use technologies like Kubernetes
- Write effective REST APIs and technical documentation
- Write automated test cases to ensure correctness, responsiveness, and efficiency of the software product
- Provide expertise to influence project, initiative, and maintenance technical direction during discovery, planning, and implementation stages.
- Maintain modern development standards with best-practice approaches and development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Solution Architecture: Create and document AI solution designs that meet business goals and technical needs.
- Technical Leadership: Lead projects by providing guidance to development teams.
- Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into technical specs for AI solutions. Collaborate with teams to understand and define data needs.
- Technology Evaluation: Research and recommend suitable AI technologies and tools for the organization.
- Implementation Oversight: Ensure AI solutions are implemented according to standards and best practices.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor AI system performance and suggest improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and procedures.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technical ideas clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement data pipelines for processing and storing large datasets.
- Data Integration: Work with data scientists to integrate data from different sources, ensuring quality and accessibility for AI models.
- Database Management: Optimize databases to support data retrieval and analytics.
- Data Modeling: Create and maintain data models for effective analysis in AI applications.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize data systems for efficient processing and storage.
- Application Development: Develop and maintain AI applications that fulfill business requirements.
- AI Model Integration: Integrate AI models into applications to ensure they work properly.
- Code Optimization: Improve existing code and algorithms for better performance and reliability.
- Testing and Debugging: Test and debug applications to ensure quality and resolve issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about AI and software development advancements to enhance solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or combination of education and relevant IT experience.
- 4 or more years of experience in software engineering
- 2 or more years of experience in at least one of the following: Angular, React or Vue.js
- 2 or more years of experience in at least one of the following: Java or Node.js
- 1 or more years of experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or another cloud service
- 1 or more years of experience in building micro frontends and/or micro services
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Azure
- Experience in Building Domain Driven Microservices
- Advanced experience in building software with Cloud native technologies
- Experience in SASS, W3C Web Standards, Web performance, Cross-browser compatibility
- Advanced understanding of web modular design patterns

Work-At-Home Requirements
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
