Job Title: Data Centre Facility Lead
Location: Longueuil, QC (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Centre Facility Lead to oversee the risk assessment, design, implementation, and operations of enterprise data centre environments. This role demands strong leadership, deep technical understanding of data centre infrastructure, and hands-on experience managing cabling, power, cooling, and physical security across colocated facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure project execution meets industry standards, timelines, and risk mitigation expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute Enterprise Data Centre Risk Assessments (internal, external, environmental, and natural hazards).
- Prepare High-Level and Low-Level designs, including floor plans, rack elevations, and infrastructure layouts.
- Manage and ensure compliance with data centre critical facility standards: safety, mechanical, and electrical design practices.
- Own end-to-end implementation, including planning, supervision, team coordination, and vendor management.
- Perform root cause analysis of failures and drive resolution to closure.
- Coordinate and report daily build progress, ensuring quality work within aggressive timelines.
- Lead the "hands and feet" team, ensuring efficient infrastructure builds and maintenance.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Architects, Project Managers, and stakeholders to maintain alignment on deliverables and timelines.
- Conduct Data Centre surveys, rack placement, and equipment validation (unboxing/inspection/returns).
- Ensure proper management of space, power, and cooling capacities to maintain operational health of compute devices.
Technical Expertise:
- 8+ years in Data Centre builds, colocation infrastructure, and structured cabling management.
- Proven expertise in:
- Structured cabling (Fiber, power, rack installation following best practices)
- Risk assessment for internal/external threats, environmental factors
- Telecom layout & redundancy (MPOE, MMR, MDFs, 2N, N+1 designs)
- Electrical systems (UPS, generators, battery banks, power feeds)
- Mechanical systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, cooling, leak detection)
- Security (access control, surveillance, physical perimeter protections)
- DC COLO planning (rack stack, cable labeling, decom)
- Familiar with Compute & Network equipment (LAN/WAN) and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
- Comfortable working with both Windows and Linux-based systems.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Preferred Certifications (not mandatory):
- IDCA DCES / DCIE, Cisco CCDP, ITIL v3
