F-16 Aircraft Software System Test Engineer (Level 5)
Location: Hill AFB, UT
What You Will Be Doing
Join Lockheed Martin Aeronautics at Hill Air Force Base as an experienced F-16 Aircraft Software System Test Engineer. In this strategic role, you'll serve as a Software/Hardware Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Ogden Air Logistic Complex software maintenance group, where you will help design, develop, and validate software for the F-16's Operational Flight Program (OFP) and subsystem flight computers. Your contributions will directly enhance aircraft performance and mission readiness, supporting critical operations that impact national security and global stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and decompose aircraft and weapons requirements to develop robust test cases and automated test software.
- Develop software applications and engineering packages to improve traditional System Integration Lab (SIL) testing processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional software and hardware test teams to plan and execute testing across the entire software development lifecycle.
- Create and maintain detailed test plans, procedures, and reports in alignment with established development and configuration management processes.
- Conduct integration tests for each aircraft subsystem and perform system-level testing at various stages of development.
- Communicate any anomalies and defects discovered in OFP or Integrated Test Stand (ITS) testing clearly and effectively.
- Participate in Interface Control Working Group (ICWG) and User Group meetings to share insights, document findings, and contribute to continuous improvements.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college
Experience with problem solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
Experience with complex tactical military aircraft Operational Flight Program (OFP) System Integration Lab (SIL) testing.
Experience managing the effective operations of an aircraft signals correlation laboratory.
Experience with technical writing, editing, and presenting.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
Desired skills
Knowledge of F-16 aircraft avionics systems including Pilot Vehicle Interfaces (PVI), internal electronic bus structure, and subsystem integration operations.
Extensive knowledge of F-16 aircraft sub-systems, weapon systems, sensors and how they integrate with on-board computer processors.
Flight Test Experience.
Experience working with automated system test procedures and processes.
Ability to effectively interface with civilian government, DoD, and industry representatives.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to thrive in a fast paced team environment.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
