Job Title: IT Applications Engineer III - Mobile (Android, Java)
Location: Atlanta, GA / Greenwood Village, CO
Work Model: Mostly Remote (1 day/week onsite)
Type: Full-Time / Direct Hire
Compensation:
  • CO: $113K-$133K + up to 8% annual bonus + full benefits
  • GA: $108K-$127K + up to 8% annual bonus + full benefits

Job Summary
The IT Applications Engineer III will design, build, and maintain high-performance native Android applications using Kotlin and Java. This individual contributor role partners with product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly mobile experiences. Responsibilities include implementing clean architecture patterns, managing app build/signing workflows, integrating APIs and third-party SDKs, and ensuring overall mobile platform quality through automated testing and modern development practices. The engineer will also support the mobile architecture ecosystem and follow Agile methodologies to deliver new customer-facing features.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
  • Implement clean architecture principles and patterns (e.g., MVVM) to create scalable, maintainable codebases.
  • Build and execute automated UI tests using Espresso as part of CI/CD.
  • Manage mobile build and signing workflows, including provisioning profiles, certificates, entitlements, flavors, and schemes.
  • Integrate third-party SDKs and analytics platforms (e.g., Firebase, location services).
  • Consume and integrate RESTful APIs, including authentication handling, error management, caching, and retry logic.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless user experiences and timely delivery.
  • Integrate content from headless CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) into mobile UIs.
  • Stay current with Android platform updates, best practices, and emerging tools.
  • Apply and adhere to mobile security standards and support KP s mobile architectural frameworks.

Qualifications
Must-Have Experience
  • 4+ years programming with Java/Kotlin for Android.
  • 2+ years developing automated tests using Espresso and/or XCUITest.
  • 3+ years managing mobile app signing and build configurations (e.g., provisioning profiles, certificates, build types/flavors, schemes).
  • 3+ years integrating third-party libraries and SDKs.
  • 2+ years working with CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  • 3+ years integrating APIs and backend services.
Required Skills
  • Strong hands-on mobile development experience for Android using Java.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience developing for both Android and iOS platforms.
