This position will support the Public Safety Portfolio in the development and maintenance of business solutions on SQL Server and Oracle platforms using advanced database development techniques. The person will be expected to design complex relational database systems, develop PL/SQL objects, and create ETL process using shell scripting and SQL. The person will be expected to follow agency software lifecycle methodologies, create design documents, perform coding/debugging/testing develop.
This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities: • Implementing Integrated Justice Portal standards related to database development • Utilize uses cases, business requirements documents, and flow diagrams to design complex relational databases • Follow all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance • Follow and contribute to agency standards and utilize industry best practices • Develop queries and stored procedures for data extraction, using SQL and one or more relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; write complex efficient SQL • Perform ongoing support for production applications – including system monitoring, processing, user support, and performance tuning • Create, maintain, and deploy batch processes to support portfolio business processes • Research emerging technologies to improve current processes.
