Job Overview:

The Principal Release Train Engineer is responsible for providing program management support to the ART. This role supports the following EPMO service offerings:
  • Program Management
  • ART Management
  • Quality Management
  • Reporting
  • Budget Management
  • Governance of processes, standards, etc.

The Principal Release Train Engineer works closely with project/scrum teams and reports directly to the Technology Portfolio Management Lead.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the scrum teams in the ART in using Agile methodology and scrum practices to meet defined OKRs for the program/train
  • Program Manage and Drive key cross-train/business deliverables across AI teams and Analytics teams, as needed
  • Manage Enterprise-wide AI initiatives and report out status to leadership
  • Collaborate across the enterprise to manage dependencies and risks
  • Drive the ART events - especially PI Planning which involves aligning goals, commitments, and dependencies across multiple teams
  • Track progress of PI Objectives and report - Demonstrate how much work in progress and in backlog. Priority and dependencies
  • Stay aligned with Technology, Product and Business to ensure all are working towards shared outcomes
  • Arbitrate and resolve conflict within the program when necessary. Understand appropriate paths and methods for escalation
  • Manage intake requests and manage within allocated budget involving right stakeholders to prioritize as needed
  • Actively identify and remove bottlenecks, dependencies, and other roadblocks that hinder the ART's ability to deliver value efficiently.
  • Drive Release Planning and Execution - Releases to production, being able to provide dates and the important artifacts.
  • Summarize in high-level business terms monthly and quarterly status and risks, and manage/report At Risk deliverables to leadership when needed.
  • Ensure JIRA is accurate and updated for the train as required per Iteration.
  • Collaborate with partners, such as Release Management, to ensure smooth implementation of changes.
  • Drive the SDLC documentation approval process
  • Coverage of software releases, ensuring that releases go to plan, and driving any issues that may occur to resolution.
  • Facilitate risk identification and management processes to proactively address potential issues that could impede the delivery of solutions
  • Review timesheets for Scrum Teams, ensuring that appropriate billing practices are being adhered to and budget consumed is tracked
  • Support the product owners and provide education where needed.

Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience as RTE/Program Manager managing large IT programs with multi-million dollar budgets up to $15M
  • 10+ years of experience managing the development team's project from initiation to production support (and multiple scrum teams)
  • 10+ years of experience working collaboratively with Development teams, Enterprise Arch, QA, Release Management and Infrastructure teams to resolve technical requirements.
  • 10+ years of experience providing regular written and verbal communication to leadership throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex technical projects (which includes teams outside your Scrum ownership)

Preferences:
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project or similar tools
  • Strong working knowledge of JIRA, Aha!, Confluence or similar tools
  • BA Degree preferred
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects that build AI platform and ML/Ops and/or AI Business solutions
  • Program management
  • SAFe RTE certified
  • Experience monitoring and managing vendor performance

Pay Range:
$130,425-$217,375/year
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
