Job Description

*This position is unable to provide work authorization sponsorship or immigration support now or in the future.*

The Technology + Product organization works at the intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products and next-generation technologies that transform the customer experience.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and self-driven engineer to join our Observability Solutions team, which plays a critical role in supporting Comcast's video deployment services. This role applies Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodology with a focused mission: to design, build and evolve observability solutions that empower teams to deliver reliable, high-performing applications through the strategic use of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs). As part of this role, you'll collaborate closely with development and platform teams to ensure service health is measurable, actionable and aligned to real user experiences.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement observability frameworks to measure and analyze SLIs and SLOs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to adopt SRE best practices and observability standards.
  • Build scalable tools for telemetry ingestion, alerting and real-time service monitoring.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and automated alert systems aligned with reliability targets.
  • Participate in incident response and postmortems to identify and address observability gaps.
  • Use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement in system reliability.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven track record implementing observability solutions in complex, distributed environments.
  • Deep expertise in metrics, logs, traces and the development of SLIs/SLOs tied to customer impact.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go and/or BASH.
  • Experience with observability platforms and open standards (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, Clickhouse).
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native and containerized systems (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Helm).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience delivering observability-as-a-service capabilities across multiple teams or domains.
  • Familiarity with incident response automation, reliability analytics and alert fatigue reduction techniques.
  • Good ability to influence engineering teams through documentation, workshops and mentorship.
  • Understanding of video delivery pipelines or media infrastructure is a plus.

Why Join Us: You'll help shape the observability landscape for one of the largest video delivery ecosystems in the world. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to architect solutions that improve visibility, reduce downtime and drive better customer outcomes. You'll be part of a highly collaborative engineering culture where reliability, innovation and user experience are at the core of everything we do.
