Job Details
Agilysis is seeking a Workday Payroll Architect to work on a client project in the greater Chicago area. The position is a Contract-to-Hire position. Client is open to sponsorship.
Roles & Resposibilities:
- Consult with Payroll business stakeholders across the world to understand the structure, policies, and requirements for payroll in US and local countries
- Interview clients, conduct requirements definition sessions to capture business needs
- Manage Workday configurations to ensure that it correctly computes earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, garnishments and other items that affect net pay
- Perform analysis of existing business processes design and identify and evaluate possible re-configuration/ solutions in response to business issues and challenges
- Assess and resolve payroll-related requests within established guidelines
- Serve as a payroll liaison when working with cross-functional business teams to translate complex business needs to effective design recommendations, system analysis, system configuration, and lead testing and deployment activities
- Function as a subject matter expert for payroll-related projects and implementations
- Work with other functional and technical resources to ensure that payroll standards and established processes are adhered to during projects and implementations
- Support payroll audits from an application data perspective and perform risk assessment including identification, mitigation and documentation
- Assist in the planning and execution of payroll test scenarios and test scripts
- Recommend best practices and provide sound solutions to support payroll related business processes
Skills and Qualifications:
- Around 5 years of Workday Payroll experience required with at least one year as an Architect
- Strong functional understanding of payroll especially around how earnings and deductions affect net pay
- Experience in requirements gathering, fit gap analysis, design, test case creation within Workday
- Ability to interact with executive level stakeholders, manage expectations, provide regular updates and conduct steering committee meetings.
- Excellent communication skills. Excellent writing skills for generating clear, concise release notes and documentation
Location: Onsite 5 days a week
