Volt is immediately hiring for Software Engineer in Aurora, CO .
Overview:
We are seeking a Software Engineer (ENG06) to support a new preliminary design effort for the next generation of satellite mission management and command-and-control systems. In this role, you will be responsible for requirements development, system design support, interface definition, and ensuring clear verification and validation activities throughout the lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure system readiness for operational release.
What You Will Do:
- Design, develop, test, deliver, and maintain software for advanced satellite ground systems.
- Collaborate with teams of engineers, architects, and technical leaders in an Agile environment.
This is 12 months with possible extension opportunity.
Clearance: Active TS/SCI required prior to start, with the ability to obtain a Polygraph
What you will learn:
- Advanced software technologies and techniques, including multi-tiered architectures, AWS web services, and microservice design.
- Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Software lifecycle processes for large-scale defense projects.
- Satellite ground system technologies such as command & telemetry, flight dynamics, planning and scheduling, and spacecraft operations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming using Java and C++.
- Experience developing software in a Linux environment.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket).
- Experience developing software on the M2C2 or Rushmore program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the SAFe Agile methodology.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with tools such as AMMP, Cucumber, GIT, Khaos (M2C2 FD), Kubernetes, Oracle, Postgres, SonarQube, WebLogic, WIGS/Angular.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and CI/CD processes.
- Full-stack development experience.
Pay Rate:- $95/hr.-$105/hr.
