The AI Research and Enterprise Solutions (AIRES) team within the Data & AI Enablement Organization is seeking a talented junior-level full stack engineer looking to grow into AI/ML to support the Virtual Program Assistant team. VPA is a foundational Program Management infrastructure hub for program management, reporting, and analytics, enabling improved and predictable program performance. It leverages enterprise-wide program management applications to compare, compile, and analyze program data to assist the program manager in optimizing program costs and schedules.
What You Will Be Doing:
In this role, you will collaborate with a variety of experts in AI, software engineering, and systems development. You will play a critical role in positioning the organization for long-term success by driving strategic insights, innovation, and competitive edge. You will contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions that will proactively manage issues, drive continuous improvement, and inform data-driven decision making. Your key responsibilities will include the following
Partnering with application teams to rapidly deploy MVPs for in-house software development, using a build vs. buy approach
Designing, developing, testing, and deploying full stack applications, using a combination of front-end and back-end technologies
Engaging in every phase of the SDLC including requirements, system and software design, implementation, and integration
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Participating in code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices
Participating in the development of data-driven products, from concept to deployment, and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
Designing and developing APIs that effectively leverage data to power intuitive UI components, ensuring seamless data exchange and visualization
Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in AI-enabled development, and applying this knowledge to improve our development processes and tools

Basic Qualifications
Experience in software development, with a focus on full-stack engineering
Experience coding with Python
Experience with REACT, OpenShift, and/or Streamlit
Experience or familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)
Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or Generative AI (GenAI)
Familiarity with API development and integration, especially leveraging data to power intuitive UI components
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desired skills
Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Django)
Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD
Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker) and related tools (e.g. Flyte, OpenShift, Watson Studio)
Experience with open source projects
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git, JIRA)
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines that support ETL processes

Experience with machine learning techniques and frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)

Experience in refining and scaling the machine learning life cycle
Experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP) in production solutions
Experience using LLM frameworks (Langchain, Llama, Hugginface, etc)
Experiencing utilizing predictive analytics techniques (time series, multiple regression, random forest, etc.)
Experience utilizing data visualization tools and packages (Tableau, Shiny, etc.)
Experience with people-centered design principles, including human-centered design methodologies (e.g., design thinking, user experience (UX) design) and user research and testing methods (e.g., usability testing, A/B testing)
Demonstrated experience designing and building solutions in any of the following areas: AI Agents, Named Entity Recognition, Document Classification, Document Summarization, Chatbots, and/or Sentiment Analysis
Working knowledge of deep learning architectures (e.g., CNN, RNN, Transformer)
Working knowledge of graph algorithms and experience with graph databases (e.g. Neo4j)
