Job Title: Materials Management: Sourcing Manager - Print

Job Location: Union, MO

Job Type; Full-Time

Reports to: VP Materials Management





Position Summary





Lead the Sourcing, vendor management, market analysis, risk mitigation, supplier expertise, and value delivery for print and packaging sourced materials. Create and implement category sourcing strategies, coordinating regional and local sourcing resources as needed, and building stakeholder alignment. Negotiate and implement supply/pricing agreements, and resolve supplier disputes. Lead key supplier development and improvement efforts, with a special focus on efficiently outsourcing the print and packaging needs of the business. Support and leverage financial and spend systems. Develop the capabilities of assigned Sourcing teams and team members.





Responsibilities





Work is typically performed with only guidance about overall goals and objectives. Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short term and long-term goals of the department. Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate into overall work objectives.

  • Lead Sourcing Market analysis, risk mitigation, supplier innovation, and value delivery in designated categories.
  • Create and implement category sourcing strategies working with VP of Materials Management, coordinate with regional and local sourcing resources as needed, and build stakeholder alignment.
  • Design and implement an effective sourcing strategy to reduce product costs, ensure supply and manage all sourcing processes.
  • Gathers information from sales, customer care, and customers (when necessary) to develop detailed specifications.
  • Key communicator and liaison with Marketing to Engineering and Operations team to initiate all product changes following through end to end product implementation.
  • Responsible for developing a more robust process for spend analysis and performance metrics with supply partners.
  • Contract Management: Prepare, negotiate and implement appropriate contractual agreements with key supply partners.
  • Uses data to undertake strategic analysis and sourcing planning to drive cost savings
  • Participates in troubleshooting of contractual issues and applies innovative solutions
  • Lead efforts in the identification of stakeholder needs and delivers appropriate communication internally and externally to meet the needs of Operations.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
  • Domestic travel required up to 10%.

  • Bachelor's degree in discipline related to functional work or role with 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience and understanding of sheet-fed and/or web offset printing is required.
  • Knowledge of print layouts, multiple up press forms, and 4/c process printing is required.
  • Able to creatively problem solve to drive efficiencies at external sheet-fed and packaging print suppliers.
  • Ability to describe specifications from samples provided by sales, customer care, and customers.
  • Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, Excel, and/or other technical tools in completing assignments.
  • Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments. Able to mentor junior level team members in the use of tools and/or systems in the position. (where applicable)
  • Requires excellent communication skills with ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand. Able to explain programs policies and procedures in language that is understood by others.
  • Developed expertise in the factors and key influences affecting sourcing and supplier mgmt. Skilled in applying the tools and techniques of competitive and collaborative purchasing.
  • Skilled in implementation of sourcing process improvements and tools. Developed expertise in price and cost analysis tools/techniques. Strong knowledge with negotiating contracts.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
