Job Details

A global leader in energy management and automation is actively seeking a Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is 100% onsite, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm located in Lincoln, Nebraska so local candidates are a must. It is a 12-month CT where you will be part of the Digital Transformation Project.

The ideal candidate will be crucial in supporting all aspects of the digital transformation, including the implementation of new processes and standard traceability system in Automech, as well as ensuring seamless integration into existing operations. Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a field of Engineering (i.e. Degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent).
  • 3+ years' experience in industrial manufacturing environment including business informatics and/or computer science as well as experience with data communication devices - (networking, wireless devices, gateways, routers, cloud servers).
  • SQL and SQL database knowledge.
  • Experience in reverse-engineering & diagnosing code in HTML and Java.
  • Strong background in wireless and wired communications protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus, digital device test applications, and system integration documentation.
  • Experience with OPC UA server communication.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI programming.
What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the integration and delivery of digital/natively connected equipment from manufacturing at their plants.
  • Manipulate data to ensure communication link between legacy systems and new systems.
  • Ensures the Gateway devices are ready to communicate both downstream and upstream.
  • Lead in conducting digital manufacturing qualification assessments.
  • Ensure the deployment of Lean/6 Sigma tools.
  • Involved in the specifications and quotation of new line architectures and industrial scenarios.
  • Manage system updated of the organizational structure of the shopfloor (production line, work centers, storage locations) when modifications are required.
  • Collect and select improvement opportunities/ideas from various sources, develops Digital Apps/solutions in conjunction with end user from Approval for start, Feasibility, Design, Pilot and Release.
