Job Details

Title: Cloud Engineer / Windows Server Admin
Location: Richmond, VA 23219 (Remote Must pick up equipment in person)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Interview: Webcam Only
Work Type: Remote (Hybrid Must pick up equipment in person)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer / Windows Server Admin with 80% cloud engineering responsibilities and 20% server administration duties. The candidate will design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS cloud solutions while providing system administration support for Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022). This includes full-stack cloud-native development, serverless architecture, CI/CD automation, and end-user support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable technology assets leveraging AWS cloud technologies.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, serverless computing solutions using AWS Lambda and DynamoDB.
  • Implement cloud networking concepts: VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
  • Automate cloud infrastructure with IaC tools (AWS CloudFormation, SAM, Terraform).
  • Build front-end applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline.
  • Provide Windows Server administration, network troubleshooting, end-user support.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail.
  • Collaborate with senior team members and business stakeholders to deliver robust cloud solutions.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Windows Server Administration (Server 2016/2019/2022) 10+ years
  • AWS Cloud Platform 5+ years
  • Full-stack web development with React, Node.js, TypeScript 5+ years
  • Scripting with Python, PowerShell, Node.js 8+ years
  • Version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices 5+ years
  • Familiarity with on-prem, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect / Developer) and Microsoft Server certifications preferred
