Overview

The Sr. Data Analyst is a technical specialist focused on the analysis, development, programming, coordination and documentation of Insurance financial calculation data specifications and extracts in support of corporate divisional and/or product initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain calculation data specifications - bridging accounting and IT disciplines
  • Develop the technical specifications using an in-house programming language
  • Resolve data calculation and specification inconsistencies
  • Develop, verify and maintain detailed documentation of calculation specifications, extracts and definitions
  • Provide quality assurance oversight to the calculation processes
  • Work closely with various departments to define calculation specifications for internal reports and/or products
  • Effectively communicate pertinent information regarding calculation specification system status, current issues, estimated completion dates and technical concerns
  • Stay current with ongoing developments in relevant US statutory, US GAAP, IFRS and/or foreign or individual jurisdictions' statutory accounting and reporting standards
  • Analyze NAIC/OSFI specifications for updates needed for calculation and/or extract specifications
  • Work independently with minimum supervision


Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 3 years of relevant work experience


Skills
Intermediate knowledge of Accounting principles
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
