Employment Type: Contract (12 months, with likely extension)

About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with a strong focus on Angular to join our Enterprise Functions Technology team. This role is part of the Employee Self Service (ESS) group, supporting integration initiatives that enhance internal employee-facing applications.

As a technical leader, you will drive the development of scalable, high-performance front-end applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help shape the future of AI-assisted development practices within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using Angular (v14+)
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and responsiveness
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests for UI components
  • Lead code reviews and mentor junior developers
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and best practices
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years of front-end development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead role
  • Proficiency in Angular (v14+), RxJS, NgRx, lazy loading, and modular architecture
  • Strong skills in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS
  • Experience with RESTful API integration and OAuth/JWT authentication
  • Familiarity with .NET Framework for full-stack collaboration
  • Unit testing experience using Jasmine, Karma, or Jest
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
  • Knowledge of WebSockets and SignalR
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance optimization
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI pair programming tools
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted code generation, refactoring, and documentation
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for research, prototyping, and automation
