Sr Software Engineer - Remote

• Design and implement advanced cloud infrastructure for scientific research.
• Architect solutions that facilitate collaborative data analysis using modern technology stacks.
• Create and extend orchestration and workflow systems to run scientific computing tasks in a stable, reproducible way.
• Collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers, neuroscientists, and data scientists on computational workflows, analysis, and visualization.
• Develop and extend a SaaS product for data science, contributing to its core functionalities.
• Serve as a technical mentor, guiding the team in best practices for building scalable and reliable systems.
• Participate actively in Agile processes, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Create and consistently update documentation for both internal developers and front-end users.

• 5-7 years of professional programming experience.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, along with experience in at least one system programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, C++).
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and delivering containerized services.
• Demonstrated experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) in delivering professional, secure systems.
• Hands-on experience with scientific or numerical methods programming packages such as SciPy or NumPy.
• Proficiency with modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, Git, and CI/CD.
• BS/MS in Computer Science (or a related technical discipline) or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience building platforms that manage code, data, and computation, such as MLOps, AIOps, DataOps, or SciOps.
• Experience implementing and using observability systems for logs, metrics, and traces (e.g., OpenTelemetry, ELK, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana) to monitor, diagnose issues, and optimize complex computing environments.
• Experience with process automation within and/or across public cloud, private cloud, edge, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) systems (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Working knowledge of Authentication and Authorization using OAuth and IDCs.
• Experience with container orchestration frameworks beyond basic Kubernetes (e.g., OpenShift, Nomad).
• Experience scaling systems with microservice architectures.
• Experience implementing complex algorithms & data structures.
• Previous participation in at least one compliance effort.
• Proficiency with production use of relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with full-stack web development (e.g., React, Node, Flask).
• Previous experience collaborating on open-source software.
• Interest in developing advanced computational techniques (such as AI/ML tuning of closed-loop experiments, metaprogramming, or deep learning) and tools to make them broadly accessible.
