Description:
Job Title: Cloud Solutions Engineer: III (Senior)
Type: 3 Months Contract to hire
Location: Columbus OH (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to expand, develop, implement, and operationalize our cloud practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience across a broad set of infrastructure and application technologies, with a visionary approach to future advancements. This role requires the ability to develop and execute strategic plans to drive technological innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Migrate local server environments to AWS-based cloud architecture.
- Automate AWS cloud application intake processes.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements.
- Manage centralized cloud infrastructure to support application and product teams.
- Optimize cloud workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
- Share knowledge and promote awareness of alternative cloud environments and services.
- Identify and propose new projects and initiatives.
- Document and recommend best practices, articulating process improvements.
- Develop automations and applications to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide 24/7 support and serve as a team escalation point.
- Maintain day-to-day processes, documentation, KPIs, and reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in cloud environments.
- Extensive knowledge of infrastructure, applications, and security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies, and stay current with industry trends.
- Passion for emerging technologies and ability to evangelize them to the team.
- Deep understanding of cloud security policies and native services.
- Familiarity with CSA CCM, NIST, and FFIEC standards.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and PowerShell; ability to navigate YAML and JSON.
- Experience with Windows and Linux in an enterprise setting.
- Understanding of both cloud-native and hybrid application architectures.
- Ability to support solutions with factual documentation.
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation, AWS EC2, VPC, S3, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of database technologies and other data services.
- Experience supporting complex production application environments.
