A fast-growing SaaS company that delivers workflow optimization solutions to government municipalities is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team developing mission-critical tools across departments such as billing, HR, and taxation.
This is a hands-off leadership role focused on team management, project delivery, and technical oversight - not hands-on coding. You'll manage a talented Agile team working on scalable, high-volume, event-driven systems built primarily with Java and modern web technologies.

This is a hands-off leadership role focused on team management, project delivery, and technical oversight - not hands-on coding. You'll manage a talented Agile team working on scalable, high-volume, event-driven systems built primarily with Java and modern web technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee backend development initiatives using Java 17, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
- Provide architectural guidance and enforce development best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and QA to deliver on the roadmap
- Champion Agile methodologies and drive continuous process improvements
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead
- Strong background in Java and web development (now in a hands-off leadership role)
- Experience working on high-volume, scalable applications
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
