Sr. Software Engineer, Robotaxi, Core Services Engineering

The Core Service Engineering team is responsible for the platforms that form the foundation of the ownership experience for Tesla's products. In this role, you will build applications that customers interact with for charging, OTA updates, referrals, Robotaxi & the Tesla Diner to name a few. You'll explore how AI Agentic applications can assist in creating a better user experience.

We are looking for a highly motivated engineer specializing in backend & distributed systems to build Robotaxi pricing estimations, calculate final bills and the billing workflow orchestration across all markets. Your work will be visible to customers via Tesla's main website and the robotaxi mobile application.

Responsibilities

• Build backend systems to determine the real time pricing, surcharges, and any other fee related to the Tesla robotaxi rides
• Build ride price estimation algorithms based on price, traffic, additional fee, tolls and other constraints
• Building Golang services to orchestrate billing, payment workflows for Robotaxi rides
• Build REST APIs for customer facing app flows
• Map airport experience, additional fee & surcharges related to the rides for entire world
• Build backend infrastructure for storing and processing many forms of map data for entire world

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, proof of exceptional skills in related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience building server side infra and data processing
• More than 4 years of experience
• Ability to solve open-ended and difficult technical problems with little guidance
• Good collaboration and communication skills
• Excitement about learning new skills
• Experience with secure architecture design, Golang, MySQL is a plus

Expected Compensation
$164,480 - $292,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
