Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a related field and 9+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, including operations, management, design, and development of cloud-based applications and capabilities

Master's degree in a related field and 7 years of relevant experience

High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years of relevant experience
Job Description:
Quantech Services is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team in Hanover, MD. The ideal candidate is a seasoned cloud engineer with proven experience in DoD cloud technology (AWS), Python programming, and Linux systems. This role contributes to the development of custom software components and open-source integration for time series analysis using advanced Big Data and cloud technology.
This is a hybrid role with work performed both on-site in Hanover and Columbia, MD.
Job Duties:

Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS
-
Enhance, optimize, and increase the robustness of an existing code base using strong systems integration skills
-
Define, build, and manage virtual infrastructure in the cloud using modern tools
-
Design and implement core architecture and software capabilities from prototype to production
-
Other duties as assigned
Other Required Experience:
-
Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda)
-
3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)

Experience writing in Python and working with the Linux command line
-
Experience designing, building, and managing infrastructure in accordance with DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (SRG)
-
Experience automating cloud configuration using tools such as Terraform, AWS Config, Ansible, etc.

Ability to work independently and identify areas for improvement

Collaboration with platform architects on strategic architectural changes
-
Strong understanding of cloud networking best practices
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, with 3 4 days per week at the Fort Meade, MD customer site or Columbia, MD office
