POSITION SUMMARY:

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Front-End Developer to join our Digital Creative Team. In this role, you'll help bring creative concepts to life by translating design assets into functional, visually engaging web experiences for our promotional, brand, and special event initiatives.

The Digital Creative Team partners closely with Marketing, Product Management, and Devlelopment teams to craft digital experiences that inspire and engage our customers. As a Junior Front-End Developer, you'll collaborate with Web Designers, UX/UI Designers, and other Developers to bridge the gap between design and technical execution.

You'll play a key role in developing responsive layouts, enhancing user experiences, and contributing to front-end solutions that drive innovation and strengthen Bass Pro Shops digital presence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Site Design - 90%
  • Collaborate with Web Designers and UX/UI teams on the development of digital concepts and designs.
  • Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and internal content management systems (CMS).
  • Create design markups and prototypes aligned with the brand's aesthetic to ensure a consistent look and feel.
  • Partner across multiple teams to see projects through from concept to production.
  • Assist the Digital Team in preparing for internal creative reviews with the Senior Digital Creative Manager.
  • Stay current on emerging digital trends, tools, and best practices
  • Internal Support - 10%
  • Provide support for internal, non-consumer-facing site projects.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree or related work experience required.
  • Preferred Degree: Computer Science, Web Design & Development or related
  • Experience: 1 to 2+ years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Proficient in content management systems (CMS) and understanding of CMS-based workflows.
  • Expereicne with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to translate design concepts into functional web elements.
  • Familiar with responsive front-end frameworks and mobile-first development best practices.
  • Experience collaborating with Web Designers and UX/UI Designers to ensure design accuracy, usability, and consistency.
  • Skilled in maintaining brand standards and adhering to established style guides.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma for digital design and prototyping.
  • Understanding of CSS pre-processors such as LESS and SASS.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and performance optimization for front-end development.
  • Familiar with version control systems such as Git and integrating APIs or third-party tools.
  • Awareness of cross-browser compatibility and methods for resolving related issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative problem solver with a team-first mentality and a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Passionate about staying current with emerging web technologies, design trends, and best practices
