Position Description:

Seneca Resources is seeking a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer to join a cutting-edge technology team in Longmont, CO. This role is ideal for a hands-on, senior-level DevOps professional passionate about building secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure that powers innovative research and development initiatives.

You ll take ownership of designing, deploying, and managing on-premise, hybrid CI/CD systems supporting both internal and external GitHub Actions workflows. The ideal candidate thrives in complex environments, enjoys tackling infrastructure challenges from hardware to cloud, and has a deep understanding of container orchestration, automation, and system reliability engineering.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain self-hosted GitHub Actions runners and CI/CD pipelines for internal and external repositories.

  • Architect scalable and secure hybrid infrastructure combining on-premise clusters and container orchestration environments.

  • Configure and manage physical and virtual systems, including OS installation, networking, and performance optimization.

  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate deployment and management.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Go to enhance reliability and scalability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve system performance, network, and CI/CD issues across diverse environments.

  • Collaborate with development teams to streamline workflows and improve build, test, and deployment efficiency.

  • Establish and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to ensure uptime and visibility.

  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and DevSecOps best practices across infrastructure components.


Required Skills/Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering, system administration, or infrastructure automation.

  • Proven expertise with GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, and CI/CD pipeline architecture.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux administration and networking fundamentals.

  • Experience with container orchestration tools, ideally Nomad or Kubernetes.

  • Skilled in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible).

  • Proficient in one or more scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, Go).

  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.
